So I just got the game on sale and when I launch the multiplayer, it makes me do the first time setup for punkbuster. it then brings up a window that says update in progress. it loads for a little and then says downloading a new global config file. after a few seconds I get "Update Check Failed" and it says the global config file failed for the PunkBuster then starts up an auto-update dialog and says "Downloading global config files" which hangs around for about 10 seconds then says "Downloading of global config file failed for the following reason: connect() timed out!". COD does then start up but PunkBuster doesn't work so I can't enter any games.
I am running call of duty4 through steam. i have tried the manual set up to install PB (pbsetup), but it fails, with the message "downloading a global config file failed - reason: network down" This happens everytime - possibly their server doesnt like my proxy settings?

Does not work here - even after re-installing Origin. The problem seems to be that Origin calculates that it needs 32 GB , but my gaming SSD has not left that much - but the disk space *IS* currently occupied by the older BF4 game, so Origin should know that there is enough space.
